Founded in 1947, the company that started Mu-Tools‘ current activities specializes in the manufacturing of micrometrically expandable diamond lapping tools, manual lapping machines and automatic lapping machines. In 1988, the company designed the world’s smallest micron-expandable honing tool (0.6 mm). The company then invested to bring all manufacturing processes in-house.

By 2020, the company welcomed new shareholders and became Mu-Tools. The following year, Mu-Tools reached a milestone when it expanded its product range to include honing machines with the most advanced technology in order to offer a more comprehensive service to its customers. A decisive step was taken in 2022 when Mu-Tools also became a machine manufacturer. With the introduction of Mµ-HS1 and Mµ-HS2 honing machines, a new era began for the company.
